Poem by Rachel

Smiles and laughter
My favourite things
A sign to all people
Of what a new year brings
A hope and a prayer
For the people I love
Light shines doen upon us
From the heavens above

A new day brings new hope
For those hopeless around
But never rejects the fact that
Someday you won't make a sound
In a heartbeat, a flash
Events turn on a dime
A death, a new life, graduation
Can I hear a wedding bell chime?

Life is so precious
A blessing, they say
For all those around us
Will come a new day
That whispers the sound
Of a life well spent
But as you lie on your deathbed
Ask what it all meant

If you ponder the meaning
As I know we all do
Just listen to your beating heart
For all you find true
The things that make us happy
Keep a watch out for those
That's the meaning of life:
To smile from your head to your toes!

Poem by Zoe

I am the children's hospital.
I care for each and every child.
I am an open heart.
I am a friendly hug.
I am a family.
I am hope.
I fight for their lifes.
I am sad for their suffering.
For their absence of happiness.
I never rest.
I never sleep.
Nor do I want to,
I have too much to learn.
Too much to teach.
I am the children's hospital.
